William Henry Long, Sr. son of Reuben Long was married to Jane Pearce, daughter of Obadiah Pearce and Sally Moore.  Jane was W.H.'s second wife.  W.H. was the first person to be buried in Long Cemetery.
Together, they had 12 children.

The Long home site still stands about midway between Bushy Fork and Hurdle Mills, NC.  The land which amounted to several hundred acres extended from Bushy Fork to Hurdle Mills.  As each of W.H. and Jane's children got married, they were given about 200 acres.  Some of the children preferred a like sum of money so they could move away.
3 of the children left Person County: George, Elijah, and John.
6 of the 12 children are buried in Long Cemetery.
